Visiting Manitoba

Of the Canadian provinces you’ll want to visit this winter and into the spring, Manitoba should be high on the list. With some truly sterling cities like Brandon and Winnipeg, and a mix of premier attractions and can’t-miss events, Manitoba will yield memorable adventures for all members of the party.

Be sure to check out Brandon during your tour of Manitoba in late 2016 or early 2017. The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum with provide edifying experiences for all who visit, and the Brandon Curling Club is a popular and impressive group. Don’t pass on your chance to experience the B.J. Hales Museum of Natural History, idea for traveling families or field trips.

The Keystone Centre is Brandon’s premier event venue, hosting a slew of excellent shows, expos, sporting events, and more throughout the year. This fall and winter, the Keystone Centre will host a slate of thrilling and fun events.

On November 25th you can check out the Brandon Light Horse Clinic, where professionals will expo all the tips and tricks to training a horse. On December 3rd, the Keystone Centre will host the annual Keystone Classic Angus Sale, one of the biggest livestock sale events Manitoba will see all year.

Winnipeg is arguably the crown jewel of Manitoba, and when you visit later this year, you’ll see exactly why. The attractions in Winnipeg are wide-ranging and excellent – you can check out the Royal Canadian Mint, explore the fall foliage at the Forks National Historic Site, or enjoy some high arts at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

On November 24th you can make the most of your holiday visit to Winnipeg with an evening of classic stage theater – it’s the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker. There will be few better ways to treat the kids to a holiday celebration this winter in Winnipeg.

From December 2nd to January 7, 2017, the Red River Exhibition Park will host the annual Canad Inns Winter Wonderland. This drive-through light show will features more than one million lights across 26 uniquely themed areas. Make the quick drive in from nearby Headingly and prepare to drop some jaws.

What would a trip to Manitoba be without some excellent professional hockey? On January 21st, make your way to the MTS Centre and catch the Winnipeg Jets take on the St. Louis Blues in this fierce NHL matchup. And later in the spring of 2017 don’t miss the staged production of the season – Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee. Visit the John Hirsch Main Stage From February 9th to March 4th to see this gripping crime drama.
