Hockey League in Manitoba
The Winnipeg Rifles of the Canadian Junior Football League are a popular source of pride, and the Winnipeg Blues shred the ice as they take on opponents from the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Check out the Winnipeg Blues at the MTS Iceplex, while the Rifles play home games at Investors Group Field
West in Brandon, you’ll find the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League. Be sure to visit the Keystone Centre, a multi-purpose area home to the Westman Communications Group Place as well as the Wheat Kings.
North in Thompson, minor league hockey and curling are staples of the local sports scene. The Norman North Stars, a member of the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League, are the pride of local hockey fans. Sheets of ice are in trouble when the Burntwood Curling Club get together. Actively sweeping the ice at the Thompson Recreation Center since 1978, the Burntwood Curling Club features men’s, women’s, and mixed leagues.
